Recipe Ingredients

  • Chickpeas 250 gm
  • Baking soda 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Onion chopped 1
  • Tomato chopped 1
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 ½ tbsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Chana masala 1 ½ tbsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Tamarind pulp ¼ cup
  • Whole green chilies 4
  • Ginger sliced 1 inch piece
  • Coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp
  • Ingredients for Tarka
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • whole red chilies 4-6

Recipe Method

  1. Boil chickpeas with water. When done add ginger garlic, onion, tomato, red chili powder, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, Channa masala,
    all-spice powder, let cook, add thick tamarind pulp, whole green chilies,
    sliced ginger, chopped coriander and let cook, when done mash half and
    let the remaining be whole. For tarka, heat some butter, add in cumin
    seeds, whole red chilies, put over the chickpeas and serve with puris.
